Transfer issue

Attempting to import a 40MB h264.mov video and all I get is "resending transfer request" in the logs and an empty spinning circle in the file transfer window. This seems to be the case for any same format video that I try to import from both external and internal drives of the laptop.
Any ideas?

Which version of Windows are your using ? We already had some issues with Windows 10 in the File manager.

This is a list of manipulation you could try

Stop import process and remove the file from Tachyon
Alt + M: Can you see other devices connected ? If not, check your network setup
Alt + S > Network tab
1. Make sure that Tachyon's ports are the same on each Tachyon devices (include the controller).
2. Reset Import Connections
Synchronise your device with the others over the network: File > Synchronise (Ctrl + Enter)

Try an import again.

Alt +S network tab, I can only see the ports for the controller laptop. How would I see the ports for the boxes?

You should set you Nvidia shield TV to controller mode for a brief instant in order to see the port he is using

Alt + S > Server config tab > Server Mode : Choose Controller
Alt + S > Network tab > Check your port
Then go back to Display mode on the server config tab

Data, file, time and control for the controller are all on separate ports is this correct?

Yes, it's supposed to be this way. Make sure that the using ports are the same for every devices on your network and that no other applications use this ports.

is a good way to check.

- Isolate your Tachyon's network: Try to isolate as much as you can your Shield + controller PC from any other devices. During the import process, Tachyon use a ring topology to synchronise his data between all of the device present over the network. If one of this device is not on Tachyon the import process can't finished. (= infinite wheel rolling on Tachyon controller)

- Set your connection first on Windows: On your controller PC, you need to set the connection you are using for contacting Tachyon devices first.

Go to your network properties (Right click on Network then Properties)
Change adapter settings (left panel)
If the Advanced Toolbar is not display, simply press ALT, it will appear.
Go to Advanced > Advanced Settings

5.First block, make sure your connection is set first on the list. Use the green arrow to change the order, then press Ok.

- Disable your Firewall: Make sure that you don't have any firewall activated on your controller PC
Open Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.

Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Click Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended) under each network location that you want to stop trying to protect, and then click OK.
