Tachyon Rooted devices

Should i be running tachyon on a rooted Shield? when i use the settings app and click the apply and reboot it suggests so.

Hello Tom,
"Apply and Reboot" button only works for rooted version of Android, but you can bypass it easily.
1. Change your settings on Tachyon_settings as you want them to be
2. Quit Tachyon_settings by pressing Esc
3. Reboot your Android Shield TV (Power from the menu page)

It should work fine after your device reboot.
Ps: Do the same procedure every time you change something in Tachyon_settings

yeah its cool, i am happy to reboot each time, do you recommend we root the shields?

also with the new version i guess i dont need tachyon launcher installed on the shield anymore, this is taken care of by the settings?

You only have to reboot at each change you made in Tachyon_settings, for the rest, a power cycle will work fine.
Tachyon launcher in fact is not needed anymore, you can uninstall it by going to:

Settings > Apps > Enter on Tachyon_Launcher > Uninstall

Teamviewer's control remote is disable in Android Shield OS so we root some of our shield to enable it. Beside that and the Apply and Reboot button on Tachyon_settings everything is the same.
